Helping people build a more secure relationship with themselves, so they can build more secure relationships with the people they love.

Hi, I'm Carmen. I'm really glad you're here.

If you've found your way to this page, chances are something in your life or relationships feels uncomfortable right now.

Maybe you're exhausted from having the same arguments with your partner.

Maybe you constantly overthink, people-please, shut down, or feel like you're "too much."

Maybe you're doing everything you can to keep everyone else happy, while quietly wondering when you'll finally feel at peace yourself.

If that's you, I want you to know something.

You're not broken and alone, I don't believe your mind or body are working against you.

I believe they've been trying to protect you all along.

That belief sits at the heart of how I work.

Why I Started Clarity & Bond

People often ask me why I became a therapist.

The honest answer is because I know what it's like to have to unlearn the relationships that shaped you.

Like many people, I didn't grow up with perfect examples of what healthy relationships looked like.

I've experienced relationships that weren't always secure, healthy or fulfilling. I've had to learn how to recognise my own patterns, understand where they came from, and slowly choose something different.

That journey is still ongoing. I'm still in therapy myself. I still do my own inner work.

I still get curious about the parts of me that become protective, anxious, overwhelmed or afraid because I never want to ask my clients to go somewhere I'm unwilling to go myself.

Clarity & Bond was born from that belief because I've experienced firsthand how healing it can be when someone helps you make sense of your inner world instead of judging it.

So no, I don't sit across from my clients as someone who's "fixed."

I sit beside them as another human being who's also committed to growing.

The difference is simply that I've spent years studying this work, practising it professionally, and learning evidence-based ways to help others navigate it too.

To me, therapy has never been about having all the answers.

It's about walking alongside someone until they begin trusting themselves enough to find their own.

My Journey

Before opening my private practice, I worked with survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, supporting people who had experienced profound trauma while also navigating complex legal, medical and social systems.

That work taught me that healing isn't just about surviving what happened to us.

It's about helping people reconnect with safety, dignity and choice.

Later, I worked in an in-house therapeutic setting supporting individuals living with complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety and relational difficulties.

There, I saw something that continues to shape how I practise today.

No behaviour exists in isolation.

Every protective response...Every shutdown, every angry outburst, every anxious text, every tendency to people-please, every fear of vulnerability.

Made sense somewhere along the way.

Even if it's no longer serving us today.

Before moving fully into private practice, I also spent time working in the corporate world.

While it may seem unrelated, it gave me a deeper appreciation for the realities many of my clients live every day; burnout, workplace stress, navigating difficult relationships, balancing ambition with wellbeing, and trying to hold everything together above all of our work responsibilities and demands.

Each chapter of my career has taught me something different.

Together, they've shaped the therapist I am today.

What I Believe About Healing

I don't believe healing happens in isolation.

I believe healing happens through relationships.

Our earliest relationships often shape how we see ourselves.

Whether we're worthy of love.

Whether people stay.

Whether it's safe to have needs.

Whether conflict means disconnection.

Whether vulnerability is welcomed or punished.

The beautiful thing is...

Relationships can also become the place where we heal.

Sometimes that's your relationship with your partner.

Sometimes it's your relationship with yourself.

Sometimes it's experiencing, perhaps for the very first time, what it feels like to be fully seen without needing to hide parts of yourself.

That's why I named my practice Clarity & Bond because lasting change begins when we understand ourselves with greater clarity and from that place, build more secure bonds with ourselves and the people we love.

How I Work

My approach is attachment-informed, trauma-informed and deeply relational.

I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work, somatic approaches, narrative therapy and other evidence-based modalities.

Those are the therapy terms.

In everyday language...

It means I won't simply teach you communication skills or tell you to think differently.

We'll become curious together.

About what your emotions are trying to tell you.

About what your nervous system learnt to do to keep you safe.

About the protective parts of you that might be working incredibly hard, even if they sometimes get in the way of the life and relationships you want.

This is because when we understand ourselves with compassion instead of criticism, change becomes much more sustainable.

What Working With Me Feels Like

One thing my clients often say is that they don't feel judged here.

They feel understood.

They also know I'll gently challenge them when needed.

I'm actively with you.

We'll slow things down together.

We'll notice the patterns beneath the patterns.

We'll make sense of what's happening in your body, your emotions and your relationships.

I'll celebrate your wins with you.

I'll hold hope when you can't.

I'll help you stay accountable while making sure you never feel alone in the process.

One client shared:

"She helps us actually move through issues and get to the core by holding us accountable while making us feel deeply heard."

Another reflected:

"She has an amazing understanding of how to guide conversations in a way that brings clarity and connection."

Many individual clients describe feeling genuinely seen for the first time.

They speak about finally understanding their emotions rather than feeling controlled by them, and having a therapist who creates a space where vulnerability feels safe instead of frightening.

That means more to me than any title or qualification ever could.

If We Work Together...

I can't promise you'll leave every session feeling lighter.

Sometimes therapy feels relieving.

Sometimes it's confronting.

Sometimes it's messy.

Growth often is.

However I can promise this:

You won't have to figure it all out alone.

We'll be sitting on the same side of the room, trying to understand what's happening together.

I'll bring the training, experience, research and therapeutic tools.

You'll bring your story and together, we'll make sense of it because I truly believe every protective pattern has wisdom and good intentions.

Your body isn't working against you.

Your emotions aren't trying to sabotage you.

They're trying to tell you something and when we learn to listen with curiosity instead of judgement, healing becomes possible.

I’ll be honoured to walk this journey with you if you’ll let me :)

If you've read through this page and found yourself thinking, "This feels like what I've been looking for," I'd love to meet you.

No strings attached, no pressure.

Let's simply see if we're a good fit. The relationship between you and your therapist matters, and it's important that you feel safe, understood, and comfortable.

If, after meeting, we realise I'm not the best person for you, that's completely okay too. More than anything, I don't want that to be the reason you give up on therapy. If it feels like someone else may be a better fit, I'd be more than happy to recommend trusted colleagues who might be able to support you better.

At the end of the day, what matters most to me is that you find the support you deserve. 🤍
